Kathleen Jost, DVM

She attended North East Missouri State for 4 years of undergraduate school and graduated from Washington state with her degree in Veterinary Medicine. She has now been practicing for 22 years.. Kathleen enjoys working in small ruminants such as sheep, goats, llamas, and alpacas. Kathleen does most of our orthopedic surgeries.

Kathleen grew up in Ord, Nebraska. She enjoys traveling, volleyball, and spending time with friends and family. Kathleen now lives in Alberta with her husband, Luke, and their two kids, Greyson and Ella.

 

Paul Syverson, DVM

Paul attended the University of Minnesota Duluth and Veterinary School at the University of Minnesota.  After graduating vet school he practiced in Blackfoot, ID before moving back to the Benson area. His works with both small and large animal but focuses on dairy and beef production.

Paul was born and raised on a dairy farm near Clontarf, MN. He enjoys spending time with his family, helping on the farm, and working on projects in the shop. Paul currently lives near the family farm with his wife Josie, daughter Justine, and sons Ole and Oscar.  

Melissa Nelson, DVM

Melissa graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1998, where she also did her undergraduate schooling. She has worked in numerous Veterinary clinics and locations including the USDA. When starting out, Melissa worked mixed practice including large and small animal. However, while working at H&H she only practices small animal medicine.

Melissa enjoys working with pets and their people. She strives for the best client education and patient care possible.

Isabelle Eid, DVM

Issi graduated from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities with her bachelor’s in animal science, and her DVM degree in 2019. Issi likes to focus in mixed practice especially in small ruminant, camelid work, and small animal surgery.

Issi grew up playing an active role in her local 4-H showing rabbits, alpacas, horses and goats. In her time off she enjoys working on her hobby farm, riding horses, and traveling.

Jacqueline Vargas, DVM

Jacqui is one of our newest additions to the clinic! She graduated for the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. Her practice background is in food animal medicine with a focus in equine medicine.

Jacqui grew up on a farm in the Alexandria area working with cattle and horses. In her off-time Jacqui enjoys traveling, eating new foods and spending time with her husband Robert and their border collie Bella.

 

Krista Hoberg, CVT

Krista grew up in Benson, MN. She attended NDSU where she received a bachelor’s degree to become a certified veterinary technician. She has been a technician for 22 years. She enjoys working with both small and large animals.

Krista enjoys spending time outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing. She also enjoys time on the motorcycle and with her horses. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Robert, and they have 3 kids, two girls and one boy.

Amanda Grussing, CVT

Amanda graduated from Ridgewater College with her Certified Veterinay Technician degree in 2007. She has been working with H & H for the last 14 years. Amanda enjoys working with both large and small animals.

Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, and her five dogs: Raja, Jack, Reggie, Ruger, and Dodge. She loves working on her hobby farm, hunting and fishing.

 

Chelsea Schrupp, VT

Chelsea grew up in Norwood Young America, MN. She attended Tech school at Ridgewater College in Willmar. She has worked at H & H for 9 years. She also likes taking care animals and making them feel at home while they are at H&H.

Chelsea likes spending time with her friends and family. She now lives in Benson, MN with her fiance Ian, daughter Adaline, son Finn and cat Channel.

Samantha Carruth, VT

Samantha grew up in Ortonville, MN and moved to Benson after her and her husband got married in 2012.  She recieved her Veterinary Technician Degree at Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN. Sam enjoys large animal herd work, equine practice, and companion animal care.

Her family includes her husband Christopher, her 4 children. Samantha enjoys horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and spending time with her family in her spare time.

Bobbie Bauman, CVT

Graduated from The Medical Institute of MN class of 1979. Bobbie has been working as a Certified Veterinary Technician for the last 40 years. In her time doing so she has worked with both small animals and large animals. Bobbie was also the director at Hawk Creek Animal Shelter for the last 14 years.

In her off-time Bobbie enjoys the three G’s: gardening, games, and spending time with her grandkids.

 

Maren Savage, CVT

Maren graduated from Ridgewater College in 2015 with her CVT degree. She did her internship with H & H in the summer of 2015 and has been working with us ever since! Maren enjoys working with cats and dogs in the clinic. She also enjoys helping the doctors with surgeries and small animal dentistry.

Maren also enjoys traveling, hiking, snowboarding and spending time with her miniature Australian Shephard named Willow!

Danielle Hart

Danielle graduated from Wayne State College in 2018. She grew up in Northeast Nebraska raising and showing cattle since she was a young girl. Danielle moved to the area about two years ago and is now one of our large animal techs.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, spending time with her family and their two dogs Casper and Mya.

Payten Doscher, CVT

Payten graduated from Ridgewater College with her CVT degree in 2017. In the summer of 2017, she did her internship with H & H and has been working with us ever since. Payten enjoys working with small and large animals.

On her free days Payten enjoys cooking, reading, and doing anything outdoors. She also enjoys spending time with friends, family and her Bernese Mountain dog Goose!
